Seems as though for the past year, every single fashion blogger has been obsessed with the skort. I’m not that late to the show since I got this one just over a year ago. Unfortunately though, with Montreal weather- I don’t wear it as often as I would like.
The business in the front, party in the back style doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. It’s popped up in a million and one different prints and fabrics and is perfect for the girl (like me) who will never wear short shorts, or a skirt this short. But somehow, when blended together feels totally ok and appropriate to wear. Maybe it’s because I feel like I can still move in it and not be afraid that my knickers will show.
It’s still astounding to me how everything comes back in fashion. I feel like I’m reliving my junior high year. Denim overalls, ripped jeans and skorts. I should just never throw anything out. What’s next I wonder and shudder at the same time.
I got this one at Zara, and of course- as is my nature…I bought two (black & white). I always style it with something a little longer, either in the sleeve or total body length. Seems a little bare on it’s own. This time I paired it with a kimono I got at Brandy Melville and it seems to work quite well for my shopping trip. I got some coverage in the back, while maintaing the look and style of the outfit. And look ma….some colour!!!! Beige…..
Given how trendy this piece is, it’s quite versatile. Weekend, work, date, brunch….you can really wear it almost anywhere.
How would you wear it?
