After winter comes my favorite fashion season of the year, Spring/Summer. However, in between snow storms, sweater layers and slushy, rain-filled days, is that confusing style period also known as March – when it’s too hot for a down coat, but too cold and slippery to wear sneakers. During this season, I usually like to lean towards earthy tones like olives, and burgundy colours that don’t get dirty easily. My go-to shoes for this transition period are Dr. Martens as they have been my shoe crush for months now, and of course, I had to add them to this outfit. A little nostalgic taking me back to my high school prairie girl days. I purchased my boots online at Unionjackboots.com, since they have a wide variety of styles, and free shipping across Canada (which is always a plus) and now I’m just waiting for them to arrive. Tick tock, tick tock! This is going to be the look I’m going for though this March. Come summer though, these beauties will be perfect with a sundress or denim shorts. I guess I should have never left the 90’s.
For a comfy, but trendy every day look, I prefer to go with a bomber jacket or an oversized denim jacket (as you all know). To go with the grunge school-girl look, add some nylon knee high socks.
A ribbed turtle grey neck can also help elevate this look, I’ve found this top from one of my faves, missguided.com.
Since the bomber jacket has a sporty edge, I’d add a touch of colour, to give the outfit a chic look. Here I’ve added a incredibly practical and gorgeous backpack from Alexander Wang. Seriously…am I back in high school? Pass the chocolate milk.
Of course I had to add in the Nyx cosmetics Nude Truffle lip pencil, after the company`s successful response from so many Canadian vloggers, I had to try some of their products myself. This lip pencil`s soft colour brings a nice warmth to the overall look.
