We thought the 90’s were back? Well, it looks like the 70’s are too. This highly popular trend has made its way back into our wardrobe. Seen on the runways of Armani, Paul & Joe and DVF to name a few- it has made it’s ways into more reasonable retailers also such as Zara and Mango.
I went for a neutral pair that hit my natural waist and decided to style it in a minimalist way. Kept it feminine but also gave it a bit of edge with a killer wedge heel. They can be found in several fabrics and colours, high-wasit or low and can be styled in a multitiude of ways.
Since the temperatures are rising, I decided to give the Palazzo a chance- they are so airy and breathable and unbelievably comfortable. With the slouchy easy wide leg, it gives the look and feel of a skirt with the comfort of pants.
This trend is great for all body types and if your like me- it’s totally forgiving for my girls with hips, since they skim the thighs and don’t hug in all the wrong places. Worn with heels or wedges (as I did here) gives the illusion of longer leaner legs. Ideally you want to pair them with a fitted top, either tucked in or slightly cropped to balance out the proportions. Length plays an important role also, as you want them to skim the ground slightly but not drag.
Whether you style them in a minimalist way or sporty or masculine- the options are really endless.
