I tend to always leave my Halloween ideas to the 11th hour. I have kids costumes to think of, coordinate school pick-up and leave work early. Rush a dinner. By candy, decorate, etc. Turns out that as an adult, Halloween stops being just about candy. Who knew?! The past 3 or so years, I have resorted to (with much success), what’s basically in my closet as a costume and just fake it till I make it with my makeup.
This year, the half skull. I was going to go with the full skull, but alas a 6 am wake-up call and the thought of not being able to scratch any part of my face if I had an itch quickly convinced me that the half-skull is the way to go. I’m pleased with how it turned out. Although I would highly recommend using actual face paints and not eyeliners. You would get a much better colour pay off, especially of the white and wouldn’t waste your Kat Von D liquid liner drawing in a nose. Another thing I liked about this look is that you can pretty much do anything you want with the eyes. It’s not often that I get to smoke the crap out of them and it’s workplace or daytime appropriate.
The beauty of this look? Other than the fact that it’s a little terrifying? You can create with everything that you already own. Products I used below:
- NYX Eyeliner in milk.
- Kat Von D Tattoo liner in trooper
- Rimmel black eye shadow in Black.
- Givency Prisme Quatuor
- Marc Jacobs mascara in black
- Nars highigher
- All my usual every day primer (KEY!), foundation, concealer and powder.
Viola!!! I mean..BOO!
